Return to "Dreamweaver"If you are experiencing difficulties publishing with Dreamweaver, try the following:
Verify that your domain name has propagated by typing your domain name into your browser and checking if it is going to the domain name correctly and that you can actually access the site (you should see a temporary index page if you have not uploaded any content yet). If you do not see a temporary page or the site does not load at all, make sure that you have specified the correct nameservers with your domain registrar, or wait a few hours.
Verify that the remote directory is correct; in most cases, this should be public_html/
Verify correct username and password; you can update your password for your account inside of the customer manager.
Disable any firewall software you have running (Norton Internet Security, ZoneAlarm, Windows XP Service Pack 2 Firewall, McAfee Internet Security, etc) to see if they are causing connection problems.
Change the Passive FTP setting to the opposite of what it is set at (if enabled, then disable Passive FTP) to insure compatibility with any firewall or router you may have installed on your network.
