Publishing to an Additional Domain using FrontPage

Before you can use FrontPage on your Virtual Hosts, you must make sure that you have installed the FrontPage extensions in your VDS Manager and then extended those onto the Virtual Hosts. 

To extend FrontPage to your Virtual Host:

Important Note: If you have not already done so, install your FrontPage extensions on your main account and then continue with these instructions.
Log in to your VDS Manager by clicking the ‘Login to VDS Manager’ link from the Products page of the Customer Manager, which is located at https://my.jumpline.com.

Click on Install & Manage on the left

Click on the Web Development icon at the top

Click the Admin link next to FrontPage Extensions under Installed ValueApps.

When prompted, enter the username and password for your FrontPage extensions that you entered when FrontPage Extensions were first installed.

Click Extend a virtual server

You will be prompted for the following information:

  • Server Configuration File Path - Enter /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf
  • Port - Enter 80
  • Host name - Enter domain name of the virtual host (do not add www)
  • Administrator user name - Enter a user name for the virtual host
  • Administrator Account Password - Enter a password for the virtual host
  • UNIX User Account Username - Enter your VDS username
  • UNIX Group Account Name - Enter vuser

Click Submit

Now that FrontPage has been extended to your Virtual Host it is time to publish the site.


FrontPage 2002

Open FrontPage

Click File

Select Publish Web

In the Enter Publish Destination field, enter http://yoursitedomain.com

Click OK

Enter the following information:

  • User name - Enter the username for your FrontPage extensions
  • Password - Enter the password for your FrontPage extensions
  • Remember my password checkbox - Check

Click OK

If the publish window is not expanded, like the image below, click the Show >> button in the bottom right corner.

To upload a file, drag it from your local directory on the left to your Web directory on the right.


FrontPage 2000

Open FrontPage

Click File

Select Publish Web

In the Specify the location… field, enter http://yoursitedomain.com

Click Options

In the Specify the location… field, enter your domain name

Check the Include subwebs checkbox

Enter the following information:

  • Name - Enter the username for your FrontPage extensions
  • Password - Enter the password for your FrontPage extensions

Click OK


FrontPage 98

Open FrontPage

Click File

Select Publish FrontPage Web…

In the Please specify the location… field, enter your domain name

Click OK

Enter the following information:

  • Name - Enter the username for your FrontPage extensions
  • Password - Enter the password for your FrontPage extensions

Click OK
